Straddie Sharks RLFC

STRADDIE SHOW COMMUNITY SPIRIT

EARLIER this year the Straddie Sharks were involved in a fundraising day to assist non-for-profit organisations Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation and Beyond Blue.

Through their fundraising activities – along with support for other businesses on the Island including Buffalo Lodge – the club were able to raise $4412 for the two great charities.Club treasurer Jan Boys thanked committee member Toni Fisher and her family and friends for work in organising a number of the activities.

She also thanked the community for getting on board.“Straddie is a very fortunate club when we run these types of events, as we receive so much support from the local business who are always happy to get right in there behind us.”Most of the money was raised through a cent auction, raffles, art auction and kitchen sales on the day.
