Straddie police are ready for EasterDANI VOLKE01 Apr, 2010 09:24 AMOfficer in Charge of the Dunwich Police Station Sergeant Peter Twort is warning Easter holiday makers that police will be out in force on Straddie. He said extra crews would be on the popular Easter holiday island and they would be targeting drink driving, speeding and seatbelts.”The same rules apply for beach drivers as they do on normal roads, people are expected to stick to the speed limits 40km/hour on Flinders Beach and 60km/hour on Main Beach, and not to ride in the back of utes,” he said.”I also expect people to secure their valuables on campsites and in their homes. This time of year we have a lot of complaints of eskies and fishing rods being stolen on the island.”
